Welcome to Yoga for Toddlers: What to Expect
Our yoga class for 2-3 year olds is designed to be a fun and flexible experience that may look quite different from other kids yoga classes. Here’s what you need to know:
Chaotic and Playful: This class will be lively and spontaneous, embracing the natural energy and curiosity of toddlers. Don’t be surprised if the poses are few and far between!
Guided by the Kids: The class will follow the children’s lead, which means the activities may shift based on their interests and needs. The focus is on having fun and exploring movement rather than sticking to a strict routine.
Goals Over Structure: While the class might not always resemble a typical kids’ yoga session, we are still working towards key goals—body awareness, movement, relaxation, focus, and moments of self-regulation.
A Relaxed Approach: The term “yoga” might not fully capture what we do here, but the underlying goals remain the same. It’s all about fostering a sense of calm and connection in a way that’s appropriate for their age.
Yoga for Ages 4 and Up: What to Expect
In our daycare yoga program for children 4 and up, you’ll find a delightful blend of structure and playfulness designed to match their developmental stage:
Enhanced Focus and Participation: Children in this age group are generally better at staying on their mats and following along with activities. They can handle more structured parts of the class and show increased engagement.
Structured Yoga Sessions: Our classes will incorporate a mix of yoga poses, sequences, and movement activities. The structure will be balanced with fun, keeping the kids actively involved while helping them learn and grow.
Skill Development: At this stage, kids can follow instructions more effectively and work on their body awareness, flexibility, and relaxation techniques. We’ll use this to support their physical and emotional development.
Interactive and Fun: The class will remain interactive and enjoyable, with creative elements that cater to their imaginations. Expect games, stories, and activities that make yoga an exciting and enriching experience.
Supportive Environment: We focus on creating a positive, supportive environment where children feel comfortable exploring new skills and engaging with their peers.
Our goal is to provide a yoga experience that is both beneficial and enjoyable, tailored to the abilities and interests of children aged 4 and up.
